Georgian **Gold Cased** Carnelian Seal Fob Circa 1830

Dating to around 1830 this bright yellow gold (cased) Carnelian fob seals colour belies her true caratage and looks every bit the high carat gold we thought she may have been!

Testing via XRF as low carat gold however the Georgian era jewellers were clever and the ‘mix’ they used for this seal looks like 22ct gold or higher.

Lush, yellow and buttery and in exceptionally good condition with none of the wear to the corners we tend to see, and set with a bevelled edged piece of uninscribed Carnelian to the bottom.

What makes this one special is the ‘rayed’ butt and fluted arms to the also fluted top ring with tiny finial.  Typical scroll work to the base, which is as mentioned in lovely condition also.

Pop this one on a high carat chain for a stunning look, she’s just divine.
