A deeply symbolic and highly sought after subject matter, our beautiful Victorian Ruby and Diamond 'Crowned Double Heart' ring is an exceptional example of its kind.
Crafted in 15ct yellow gold, this gorgeous ring features two curvaceous hearts, one set with a pink faceted ruby the other an old mine-cut diamond. To the top, a dainty single-cut diamond set crown (a total of eight diamonds) is the defining feature. Extending from the curvaceous hearts are bifurcated shoulders to a solid, thick shank.
Throughout history, double hearts with a crown symbolised “the reigning of fidelity over a marriage”, while single crowned hearts were equally popular for engagement rings and carried the meaning “ruler of my heart”. The poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s engagement ring from 1964 was a crowned diamond heart.
Presenting in very good to excellent condition, All gems are original, well set and secure. Feminine, pretty and stepped in history, this captivating ring is substantially made with the utmost care and attention to detail.
