Antique Australian 18ct Yellow Gold Ring By STEVENSON Circa 1900
Hallmarked with early hallmarks seen on our early Australian jewellery, the ‘Crown’ and ‘Lion Passant’ usually identified with English jewellery, however our fine early jewellery firms in Australia used these also. Stamped clearly with the ‘STEVENSON’ name and 18c also.
Designed as a wide 18ct yellow gold band with segmented square sections each beautifully engraved with a floral pattern on a textured ground.
One panel would originally have left plain to allow the addition of ones initials, and this one still bears faint initials we believe to be ‘MBS’. Faint enough to be polished back and re-inscribed if desired.
Rich and lush in hue this buttery 18ct yellow gold ring is a little Australian piece of history, and a collectors dream.
