What we do know however that it is a superb piece of antique Australian jewellery in the form of (some type) of insect, crafted from 15ct rose gold and dates to around the turn of the last century circa 1900.

Designed as a long - 5.3cm - double bar brooch with ball ends, and to the centre this magnificent large insect with outstretched wings set with natural half seed Pearls, body comprising of a stunning multi-claw set pear shaped Turquoise cabochon, and thorax set with a luscious red faceted garnet.
