Uranium glass, also known as vaseline glass, is a material more commonly seen in decorative glassware than jewellery, which fluoresces a neon green under black light owing to negligible amounts of uranium in the glass.
This very pretty ring dates to around the 1940’s and is crafted in 9ct rose gold and centred with an emerald-cut ‘Uranium’ glass measuring 1.2cm x 1.0cm and held securely to all four corners with triple grooves claws.
Set to an oblong gallery with Deco style triangle cut outs to particularly pretty trifurcated shoulders with the under supports with a fine etching giving a little extra flair to they already beautiful ring.
In the natural light we would describe this one as a cross between a blue/green Aquamarine and perhaps a light green Columbian emerald.. possibly the prettiest colour we have seen set into a ring!
She may be ‘only’ glass but when worn this one elicits gasps of admiration whenever she’s seen and is quite the talking point.

Substantial made, solid shank and secure claws. Uranium glass is very very pretty in natural light. Miniscule nibbles to facet edges seen under loupe magnification, minor marks to table facet. No thinning to shank.
