Vintage 18ct Gold And Diamond Ethiopian Opal Two Strand Necklace
Included with purchase is the original purchase receipt from the previous owner. Purchased from The French Jewel Box (Collins St Melbourne) in 2014. Original purchase price, $7155.00 AUD.
The fire in Ethiopian opals is often described as vibrant, intense, and full of life. When light hits the opal's internal structure, it diffracts and reflects off the tiny silica spheres within the stone, creating a spectacular play of colours that seems to dance and move as the gemstone is viewed from different angles.
This unique optical phenomenon is what gives Ethiopian opals their glowing and magical allure. Each Ethiopian opal is a one-of-a-kind gemstone with its own distinct patterns and colour combinations, making them highly prized by gemstone enthusiasts and jewellery designers alike.
This stunning double strand of graduated Ethiopian Opals consists of two strands of gently graduated Opal beads, each bead glowing with a fiery warm hue that seems to dance and shimmer with a burning glow in the light.
At the center of this exquisite piece, a vintage/antique 18ct white gold clasp steals the show, adorned with eight mesmerising Old Mine cut diamonds.
These diamonds, with a total weight of 0.58 carats, sparkle and twinkle like stars in the night sky, adding a further touch of glamour and luxury to the necklace.
As the light hits these wonderful Ethiopian opals, they come alive with a radiant warmth that seems to almost "burn" with an intense and captivating fiery glow.
The play-of-colour in the Opals creates a magical display of colours with flashes of reds, orange, green, blues, and purple cascading across the entire strands of the necklace, creating striking visual display.
Measuring a pleasing 40cm in length including the clasp when closed, one can wear the stunning diamond clasp to the front at the throat, or pop her to the back, and let the Opals take centre stage!
Whether worn for a special occasion or as a cherished heirloom, this necklace is sure to turn heads and evoke admiration for its exquisite craftsmanship and undeniable allure.
