Laybys welcome! Contact Us today to secure your dream piece.
Stunningly large Victorian locket crafted around 1870-1890 from black enamel and unusually decorated to the front, in Sterling Silver, with the letter ‘A’ and embellished with tiny natural seed pearls and one tiny Turquoise.

To the verso is a hinged glass opening compartment crafted from gold that tests to 15ct gold as does the large bale to the top.

Measuring an imposing 4.7cm x 3.5 without bale and with bale 6.5cm.
The bale is quite wide and roomy and will accommodate quite a large gauge chain, or pop a velvet ribbon through if you wish!

Beautiful and we believe quite a rare find especially in this condition, 141 years old and just stunning.

Lockets such as this were at their height of popularity from around 1860 to 1890. They were not only used as mourning lockets but also to commemorate a wedding.  In March 1871 Queen Victoria's daughter Princess Louise gave a locket to each of her bridesmaids at her wedding.
