Modern 18ct Yellow Gold Natural Red Spinel And Diamond Ring
Perhaps our favourite, or at least one of our favourite pieces this week!
This stunning ring 18ct gold ring is centred with a red Spinel four claw set to a surround of four beautiful Marquise cut diamonds each weighing approximately 0.10ct each and a further eight small round brilliant cut diamonds interspersing the Marquise diamonds.
A modern take on a cluster style ring this one is in an elliptical shape in east to west orientation, with simple swept up solid shoulders to a tapering wide shank at the verso.
Stunningly bright the colour combination of the deep red Spinel and bright white diamonds is simply striking.
Cleverly designed as a relatively low rise ring but with enough height to allow below the gallery for a plain wedding/flat band to sit one or both sides!

The famous 14th century Black Prince's Ruby in the British Imperial Crown is actually a red spinel! In 1783, Mineralogist Jean Baptiste Louis Rome de Lisle identified spinel as a different mineral than ruby. Recently, Spinel was added as an August birthstone, sharing this month with Peridot and Sardonyx. The most valued spinel colours are bright red, cobalt blue and vivid pink and orange.

Very very good preowned condition. Bright and beautiful, diamonds are bright white and lively. The red Spinel is a deep saturation , securely claw set, no chips, one tiny minuscule marks to lower facet edge seen under loupe magnification only, eye clean. All claws to diamonds original and very secure. No thinning to shank. Stunning ring.
