Large and impressive sterling silver Victorian locket and associated chain dating to around the late 1800’s circa 1890.

Measuring a substantial 4.6cm x 4.0cm, not including the bale, which when taken into account then measures in drop a lovely 6.2cm.

Engraved beautifully to the front compartment with a scrolling pattern in the form of a belt/buckle signifying represents eternity, fidelity, strength and protection popular during the Victorian era.

Opening to reveal two compartments, both retaining their original silver rims, and one with a plastic pane and early taffeta fabric.

The rear of the locket is unadorned and in fine condition with no dents or dings.

The glorious sterling chain and associated sterling bolt ring may or may not be original but are of a similar age and suit each other perfectly.

In belcher style this wonderful chain consists of wide grooved interlocking links which are then interspersed with round rondels and she measures a pleasing 43cm in length not including the 1.2cm round bolt ring.

Lovely on, highly symbolic, comfortable to wear, this Victorian treasure will not disappoint!
