Antique Victorian Hand Painted Enamel Telescoping Pencil Circa 1880-1900
A fine Victorian gold filled/rolled gold hand painted enamel telescoping / propelling pencil.
Cylindrical in shape with a beautiful enamel painted scene of a young lad in period costume, playing a flute in a country scene.
While retracted this charming pencil measures a very wearable (as a pendant) 5.8cm, and looks simply stunning worn threaded with a chain or clipped on to a dog clip on a long guard chain or watch chain.
Extended it measures a functional, and comfortable, to hold 10cm.
Retaining an original small piece of lead which writes very well, this charming early piece is a collectors dream.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition. Enamel hand painting is in fine condition, no losses. Rosy gold in hue with patina here and there. Pencil extends and retracts very well slightly jerky at times! Retains a small piece of original pencil, writes well. Screw tip mechanism works.
