Antique Australian 9ct Rose Gold ‘Puffy Heart’ Pendant By Robert Rollason/ Rollason and Co LTD 1888-1925
Charming antique Australian ‘Puffy Heart’ charm/pendant dating to the Edwardian era and hallmarked for one of our early antique jewellery firms - Robert Rollason.
Crafted from 9ct rosy hued gold and designed as a hollow heart with the most beautiful hand engraving to the from in a wreath style surrounding the small faceted red stone to the centre. (Not tested, either a garnet or paste).
Measuring a dainty 1.5cm x 1.3cm this rosy antique beauty lends herself to be worn either as a pendant or a charm on you favourite charm bracelet.
HISTORY OF ROBERT ROLLASON
Robert Rollason founded his business in 1888 at 112 Kent street Sydney and was to become one of the foremost jewellery manufacturers in Australia.
By 1896 he moved his manufacturing to Castlereagh Street and by 1907 the firm changed their name to Rollason and Co and in 1910 Rollason and Co. Ltd.
Manufacturing a large range of gold and gem set jewellery, vesta and sovereign cases, chains and Albert watch chains the company moved to a larger premises at 112-114 Crown Street in 1922.
Two of their best chain makers Frederick Mountford and Henri Belle both went on to establish their own businesses in Sydney.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. There are three impressions to rear, quite shallow but apparent. Original? impression to outside ‘seam’. No dents/dings to front of Heart, no chips to red stone. Bale shows slight thinning but acceptable. Priced accordingly.
