Antique Australian 9ct Rose Gold Garnet Topped Doublet Cross Pendant Circa 1910
Crafted from 9ct rose gold which has been *bloomed to give a yellow matt finish, this particularly fine example is a large 5cm x 3.2cm in size.
Set with a charming green heart-cut Garnet topped doublet to the centre and surrounded by a garland shaped motif set with eight faux half seed Pearls (very typical of the era) and a further two round-cut green Garnet topped doublets adorn this motif top and bottom.
Pretty hand engraving to the four p0ints of the cross add further charm to this delightful piece.
A must for the Australiana jewellery collector, pieces of this quality are becoming increasingly hard to source!

Very very good antique condition. No dents to front or back. Minor marks to gold only, insignificant. All stones and pearls original, no re-glues or replacements. Seen under loupe / magnification a sliver chip beneath one claw to heart-cut garnet, this is almost impossible to see with naked eye. A special early piece by Willis And Sons.
