Antique Australian 15ct Rose Gold ‘Cigar Band’ Ring By Johnson & Simonsen - Circa 1910
A wonderful survivor from our early Australian jewellery history in the form of a very wearable ‘Cigar’ style wide band.
Crafted from lush rosy hued 15ct gold and manufactured by one of the leading jewellery manufacturers of Victoria - Johnson & Simonsen 1895-1914.
Designed as a very wide 1.0cm band, thick, solid and strong, this charming antique ring has seen little use during its approximately 115 years, and is as lovely as the day it was first made.
Silky and smooth to wear, one of those rings that veritably melts on to the finger, elegant and classic in style, and, an important nod to our fine early jewellery designers.
Crisply hallmarked with Johnson & Simonsen trademark symbol (the Square and Compass), 15ct, and the guarantee mark of the Manufacturing Jewellers Association guarantee mark for 15ct gold, this wearable piece of history is a collectors dream ring.
