Fabulous long guard chain dating to the late Victorian era made and stamped ’S.P’ for Freidrich Seidel Pforzheim.

Founded in 1869 by Freidrich Seidel in a small town in southwest Germany, Pforzheim , commonly referred to as Goldstadt or the ’Golden City’.

Renowned world wide for it watchmaking, and jewellery, the company moved to Providence, Rhode Island in 1904, later becoming the Speidel Company inventors of the metal expansion band - Twist - O - Flex.

One of the most respected makers and originators of rolled gold jewellery form the late 1800s, the quality of their pieces is quite exceptional.

This example is lovely … consisting of faceted round belcher links which  catch the light and sparkle, a rich rose gold in colour and measuring a wonderful 140 cm in length.  Original sturdy dog-clip is also present.

Stamped ‘18ct Rolled Gold and SP’ this wonderful chain doubles beautifully around the neck and can be styled in so many ways.

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition.  No wear to rolled gold. Facets are crisp, no thinning between links.  Dog clip functions perfectly. Gorgeous substantial chain.
