Vintage 18ct Yellow Gold Multi-Gem And Diamond ‘Harem’ Ring - Circa 1960-70’s

Exotic and beautiful ‘Harem’ rings have been popular throughout jewellery history and remain popular today!
Believed to have originated as wedding bands during the Ottoman Empire and regaining popularity during the 19th and early 20the century and beyond!
This lovely example, we believe, dates to the 1960’s or thereabouts (we often see later examples listed as ‘antique’ but due to the 18k stamp we believe this one is later).
Crafted from 18ct gold which is yellow gold but with a subtle rosy hue surrounding the gems due to developing a rich patina, and designed as ‘five’ band Harem ring secured at the rear with the traditional gold bar.
Set with an array of natural and faux gems - see below - and natural 26 tiny Macle-cut diamonds interspersing the gems.
An exotic and attractive ring presenting seldomly to the market, with a striking and wide finger presence, for those who adore unusual jewellery.

*Macle is a gemological term referring to triangular-shaped twinned crystals of diamond rough. Macles are usually quite flat but are often thick enough to fashion into brilliant-cut diamonds. Macle is taken from the old French for twin.

CONDITION
Very good vintage condition. Bright and lovely, no repairs. All claws appear original, gems secure - faux Peals may be replacements? however appear secure and well set. Under x10 loupe absolute minuscule marks to one or two facets, noting for accuracy only, very eye clean! A very pretty ring for special occasions.
