Antique 15ct Yellow Gold Seed Half Pearl Opening Double Sided Locket c1910

An ethereally beautiful antique locket dating to the Edwardian era which presents in a condition almost as fine as the day it was made over 100 years ago.
Crafted from high carat 15ct gold, and designed as an opening double sided locket with slightly domed panes (original) which have a slight magnifying effect which highlights the contents. Atop is the original seed Pearl bale which will allow a fine to medium gauged chain of your choosing.
Originally designed as a photo locket, however the depth between each pane allows this stunning piece to be re-purposed as a ‘shaker’ locket, and today we find a parcel of natural round faceted Emeralds and loose small drilled Pearls which shake and swish around inside beautifully.
Hinged and very easy to open allowing the new owner to place two photos, or perhaps some sentimental dried flowers, or simply continue to use as a shaker locket.
In excellent condition, this fine piece of Edwardian jewellery is ready to wear and be admired.

Excellent antique condition. Panes are original, thick and slightly magnify contents (photos if replaced)! All Pearls are original, no re-glues. Hinge is strong, and the locket opens and closes with a nice secure snap. Bale is original, no thinning. Emeralds and Pearls inside are obviously replacements, Emeralds are natural, pearls possibly natural possibly cultured. No issues to note.
