These superb antique Victorian earrings, dating from around 1880–1890, are a truly exquisite pair and among the finest we’ve had the pleasure to offer.
Crafted in rich and luxurious 18 carat yellow gold, the slightly oval body of the earrings are beautifully engraved with intricate foliate designs, accented by five tiny seed Pearls delicately threaded on to a ‘vine’ like gold twist, and a vibrant round-cut natural blue Sapphire - claw set - to each earring.
The combination of rich yellow gold, bright white Pearls, and the striking blue of the Sapphires creates a look that is both elegant and eye-catching.
Suspended below each earring are two lustrous cultured Pearls, articulated to sway gently with movement, adding a touch of playful charm to their refined design.
Designed for pierced ears, they feature sturdy posts with later-added 9 carat gold butterfly backs for secure wear.
Now over 130 years old, these earrings remain in wonderful condition, a testament to their exceptional craftsmanship. Sophisticated yet full of character, they are ready to be worn and loved once again—a perfect piece of Victorian elegance to treasure.

CONDITION
Excellent antique condition. We don’t believe these are conversions, if so they are exceptional with no sign of alterations. Gold work is exquisite, no dents to the front engraved pearl sections. Posts are firm, solid and strong. Butterfly backs are later, matching and firm on the posts. Pearls - threaded seed pearls and larger pearls are all original and in lovely condition with no damages. To the gold verso there is one tiny absence of gold, this is very minor and insignificant. No issues to note, simply divine!
