Antique Australian 15ct Yellow Gold Garnet And Ruby And Rose-Cut Diamond Ring

Crafted in 15-carat yellow gold, the ring is fully hallmarked with the Manufacturing Jewellers Association (MJA) stamps and the iconic ‘hanging fleece’ mark — the official guarantee for Australian 15ct gold used during this era.
While the maker’s mark is unfortunately a little illegible, its Australian origin is unmistakable and proudly documented by these period hallmarks.
At the centre sits a luscious, deep red oval-cut Almandine garnet, flanked on either side by two oval-cut Rubies of very similar rich hue. The subtle variations in tone between the Garnet and Rubies create a wonderfully harmonious flow of colour. Interspersed between these vibrant red gems are two pairs of sparkling rose-cut diamonds, which catch the light with that signature antique brilliance and add delicate flashes of white fire.
This ring has a wonderful presence on the finger. The detailing is beautifully executed in typical Edwardian style, it remains in absolutely beautiful original condition with no alterations or repairs — a testament to the quality expected of fine Australian jewellery of the period.
