Sublime Mid Victorian Scottish Agate Sterling Silver Lovers / Cupid Arrow Brooch Circa 1870

One of the largest Scottish Agate Cupid Arrow brooches I have had the pleasure of offering for sale.

Just shy of 10cm in length and set with an amazing octagonal cut banded carnelian agate stem probably form Scurdie Ness, or Cupar in Fife Scotland.
The 'feathers' are finely and intricately moulded and chased from sterling silver and has the most convenient little jump ring allowing it to be worn as a pendant too.

These marvlleous brooches were made from the 1860's onwards after Queen Victoria purchased Balmoral after falling in love with the Scottish highlands on her trip there with Prince Albert.
These historic and iconic brooches make the perfect gift for the one you love.
