Very Early Australian Diamond 15ct Kangaroo Pin

Tiny and rare example of early Australian craftsmanship in the form of the most exquisite little Kangaroo.

Rendered in silver and set with fourteen small rough rose cut diamonds or ‘senaille’ diamonds.  These diamonds are dark. they are not modern brilliant cut diamonds, but they do twinkle beautifully in the light.

The pin is fashioned from 15ct rose gold and stamped as such.
Quite early we believe this miniature art work dates to around the mid to late 1800’s, and most definitely Australian in manufacture, probably by one of the well known jewellers of the time.

The tiny Kangaroo stands 12mm high and from the tip of his tail to tip of toe measure 17mm.

A true collectors piece.
