Incredible piece of early Georgian (1714- 1830/37) era ‘Cannetille’ 15ct gold and pear-cut Amethyst pendant.
This amazing piece would almost certainly have been a component of a much larger piece and or part of a parure and probably would have been a detachable piece hung from a much larger necklace.
These rare pieces are hard to find either on their own and especially in all original condition.
Handcrafted from bright 15ct yellow gold, and set with a stunning pear-cut faceted natural Amethyst measuring 1.5cm, x 0.9cm or approx 3.70cts.
2.5cm x 1.8cm (excluding jump rings)
Tested as 15ct gold
Stunning condition for its approximately 200 years. No chips or abrasions to Amethyst. Claws are all original and excellent. Cannetille work is excellent, no repairs. Jump rings are not original but are gold.
