Georgian ‘Heart In Hand’ Stick Pin/Brooch Circa 1820

Such a rare and poignant little piece of Georgian history.

Featuring a ‘heart in the hand’ mounted under beveled rock crystal symbolic of charity, given from the heart.

A heart in the hand has also been a symbol of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, a fraternal organisation derived from the English Odd Fellows orders of the mid-18th century.

Constructed from Pinchbeck or similar this 200 year old pin is in very good condition with original bevelled edge rock crystal in clear and undamaged condition allowing full and easy view of the hand below it.

With scrolled border and twist pin this quite rare piece looks utterly charming on a lapel or shirt collar, and draws many enquiring comments.
