Charming and very wearable un-dyed white coral necklace dating to around the late 19th century, perhaps just after.
Consisting of a 58cm length of graduated natural coral spheres ranging in size from approximately 3mm to 1cm.
The overall colour is a creamy soft white with natural striations visible mainly under magnification, and one or two random tiny specks of pink.
The spheres have the chairing inconsistencies in roundness which reveals their hand-tooling. Importantly each bead is individually knotted and, we believe, silk thread which is in very good condition
Secure with a 9ct rose gold barrel clasp, engraved daintily and hallmarked 9ct, and in prefect tight working order.
Gorgeous necklace to just pop on for warm sunny days by the water.
