Laybys welcome! Contact Us today to secure your dream piece.
Quite incredible 240 plus year old Georgian earrings dating to circa 1780.
Elegantly handcrafted in silver as per the era, of three articulated sections, set with a total of 40 early rose-cut and senaille-cut diamonds throughout.

The top surmount is set with a single rose-cut diamond, collet set, measuring approx 3mm.  Suspended from which is a foliate motif panel set with a central rose-cut diamond approx 2.5mm, with a further two rose-cuts flanking, then four incredible ‘senaille’ cut diamond to each foliate corner.

The articulated bottom drop is set with a total of 12 diamonds.
The surround featuring 10 diamonds of various cuts, to the articulated centre free moving drop which is set with a lovely and good sized triangular shaped rose-cut diamond measuring approx 5mm x 4mm.

Under close magnification this large rose cut has to the top a tiny separate senaille cut diamond to give the appearance of a pear shaped diamond….  the work and attention to detail is exquisite.

All diamonds are fully enclosed and foil backed.  Gold lever back ear wires may be a later replacement but no actual evidence of replacement/solder.

Intended to be worn hundreds of years ago in the evening in candle light these earrings in our opinion look just as good today, under any light, as they did hundreds of years ago.

As with all very old rose cut and closed / foil backed diamonds these diamonds are slightly darker and will not appear like modern brilliant cuts.
