Poignant little Georgian Brooch dating to 1820 and inscribed “Peter Hopwood - OBT 19th Oct 1820 - AEt 48”.
Constructed of low carat rose gold (setting to 9ct or a tad lower) and set with a halo of faceted Jet stones in cut down collet settings to a central glass front compartment beneath to which is a loosely braided lock of two locks of hair, one blonde, one brunette.
With a closed back setting, original C clasp, pin and fitting however the pin fitting has been re attached some time in antiquity.

Good 210 year old condition. All Jet stones are original, several have chips. Pin fitting has been re-attached in antiquity but is very secure. C clasp is in original condition. Glass is good, clear, with only minor superficial marks.Please note boxes are for display only Purchase Summary
