Charming early Australian 18ct yellow gold ring by ‘Stevenson’.
Slim in design, this all original band would have started its long life as a wedding ring, however it seems to have had very little wear or use.
Crafted from 18ct bright and lush yellow gold this sweet little antique ring would make a sustainable choice for a wedding ring, or simply as a must have #stacking ring as who can ever have enough?

Walter H Stevenson was born in Melbourne in 1855. After serving his apprenticeship with Philip Wing in Little Collins Street he spent some time working for P. Falk and Co in their Adelaide factory.
In 1878 Walter and his brother William (a watchmaker) established their own business as manufacturing jewellers in Gawler Place then to 6 Rundle Street Adelaide.
By the end of the 19th century Stevenson Bros ( by then at 20 Rundle Street ) had become one of the best known Jewellery houses of Adelaide.
W. Stevenson retired in the 1920’s, passing away in 1930.
Walters son Malcolm had joined the business in the 1920’s and the firm traded as a wholesale and retail jewellers up until the first half of the twentieth century.
