Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver ‘Gold Wash Over’ Ornate Chain Circa 1910

Charming and unusual chain dating we believe to the Art Nouveau era and crafted from Sterling Silver (tested as slightly higher via XRF) and ‘gold washed’ over the Sterling silver which also tested via XFR as around 3 % gold.

This ‘gold wash over’ gives an hue which is a cross between silver and pale gold, soft and subtle and highlights the floral sections in such a pretty manner.

Each floral segment is interspersed with ‘knot’ and each and every r9und jump ring is stamped with either STG for Sterling or with the makers mark ‘JG’.

Heavy at 67.5 grams featuring a large and solid dog clip secures this long chain perfectly around the neck and at 63 centimetres this chain has the added bonus of being long enough to slip over ones head.

CONDITION
Very solid and well manufactured chain, all links are soldered and very strong with no thinning at any component junction.  Dog clip is strong and tight.  Gold wash over the sterling is pale but very pretty.  No repairs or damage to note.
