If you need a little direction in life this superb Victorian 15ct gold compass is for you!

Quite possibly the nicest and beautifully crafted example we have seen this sizeable compass pendant/fob measures just over 2.8cm in diameter without the bale and weighs an impressive 9.5 grams.

Double sided with one side displaying an 8 wind compass rose and the other an impressive 16 wind compass rose, with a full working and functional (we believe) pointer.

Crafted in the late Victorian era these fobs would have adorned a wealthy Gentleman's gold Albert watch chain and slipped into his waist coat pocket to be pulled out and ‘shown’ as an indication of wealth and standing in society.

Worn today as pendants on your favourite short or long guard chain or perhaps like a century ago on an Albert watch chain?

CONDITION
Very very good antique condition.  Painted directions are in very good clear order with only minimal loss to the ’N’ of NE on one side.  Very superficial marks to glass.  Possible tiny repair to jump ring adjoining compass, very very hard to see with naked eye.  Gorgeous early compass.
