Crafted around 1912 in France, (as indicated by the use of the ’dogs head’ stamp for Platinum), this superb diamond necklace exemplifies the Belle Époque era.

Designed as a Negligee pendant and crafted from both 18ct yellow gold (eagles head stamp for 18ct gold) and topped with Platinum settings for the diamonds with the central horizontal diamond shaped lozenge set with antique cut diamonds with beautiful millegraine edging throughout.

Suspended from this lozenge are two subtly asymmetrical knife edge bars, with a further diamond set to each, then suspending the two stunning articulated drop open panels, each with a further two diamond-drop to the centre.

The diamonds are mostly rose cuts, with three old European cut diamonds as the larger principal diamonds, with an estimated total of 0.50ct TDW - colour H-I and clarity SI.

A Platinum trace chain with a small bolt ring clasp completes this beautiful piece, and is also hallmarked with a French ‘Bigorne’ stamp (**see below Lang Antiques reference for information).
