Probably the rarest antique Australian piece (Maker wise) that we have found to date as this bears a makers name that we have been unable to find in the important reference books on early Australian jewellery.

Hallmarked beautifully for ‘Halfhide’ and 15ct this elusive maker(s) we finally tracked down to two jewellers bearing this surname both working out of Victoria in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Information was found on ’http://Trove.nla.gov.au’ ( see photos ).

Alfred C Halfhide operated out of Warragul Victoria and B E Halfhide operated from various localities mainly Punt Road Cobram Victoria.

We are leaning toward this piece having been crafted by Alfred C Halfhide due to its age and time he was operating.

So…  this one is crafted from 15ct gold  in the form of a Sword symbolising protection and honour and the crescent moon and star representing female empowerment and guidance.

Measuring a pleasing 6.7cm long and set with 20 creamy white natural half seed pearls this rare and quite perfect piece of early Australian jewellery history is a must for the serious collector.
